Catherine Friend White has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board for the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College. White is founder and president of the investment management firm, FinArc, LLC.

She has been a member of the Cutler Center Advisory Board since 2007. Her numerous contributions include sponsorship of Babson student consulting projects, and she has served as panelist and speaker at the Center’s many workshop series.  White is an active mentor to students and has provided internship opportunities to students with concentrations in finance.

At FinArc, White manages portfolios and chairs the Investment Committee. Prior to FinArc, she was Portfolio Manager/Analyst of the Growth and Income Portfolio, at International Heritage. As limited partner with International Heritage, she supervised trading and performance analysis. White worked for Hellman, Jordan Management Company, and the Pioneer Group, Inc. She began working in the investment industry in 1980.

White received her MBA with a concentration in finance from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and her BA in Philosophy and French from Dickinson College. She has received multiple Certificates of Achievement from CFA Institute for continuing professional accreditation.
 
White is a member of CFA Institute, The Boston Security Analysts Society, The Commonwealth Institute, and The Boston Club. She previously served on the board of directors of BostonFed Bancorp, Inc. and its two subsidiary banks, Boston Federal Savings Bank and Broadway National Bank. White has appeared on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, and other television and radio shows and in print media.
